Dr. Mark Hyman is a renowned dentist in Greensboro, NC, and a public speaker/thought leader whose work is characterized by his warmth, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and passion for dentistry. As an accomplished seminar speaker, he has lectured throughout North America at every major dental meeting. Dr. Hyman is an Adjunct Full Professor at UNC School of Dentistry, teaching the dental and hygiene students, AEGD, and GPR residents. For the past 17 years, Dentistry Today magazine has a selected Dr. Hyman as one of the Top 100 speakers in dentistry. He has earned national and international recognition for his innovative and engaging teaching.

WVDA MidWinter Meeting is January 19-20, 2024

Registration is open for the 2024 WVDA MidWinter Meeting at Stonewall Resort.

“Esthetics In Action” will be presented by Dr. Ross W. Nash and Debra Engelhardt-Nash.  Dr. Nash will illustrate up to date techniques to integrate conservative esthetic and treatment in the general practice. He will discuss modern materials, procedures, and technology that can aid the dentist in-patient care of office productivity. Dr. Nash will review treatment diagnosis and restorative selection. Esthetic rehabilitation cases with an emphasis on conservation of natural tooth structure will be reviewed. 

Introducing this type of dentistry into the practice and increasing patient acceptance requires a careful and caring Team approach. Ms. Engelhardt-Nash will describe specific steps to boost Team effectiveness and offer practice management techniques to increase productivity. Together, Dr. Nash and Ms. Engelhardt-Nash will discuss increasing effectiveness in treatment consultations and fee presentations. This is a comprehensive overview of clinical techniques, practice management and Team development.

The Nash’s course will be all day on Saturday. Friday’s agenda includes required CE courses for Drug Diversion and Oral Effects of Tobacco Use in the morning and a Medicaid presentation and panel in the afternoon.  You won’t want to miss it!

Drug Diversion Course Online NOW!

Drug Diversion Course is now available virtually, on demand here

The WV Board of Dentistry requires West Virginia dentists to complete every two years at least three (3) hours of education training "Drug Diversion and Best Practices Prescribing Controlled Substances Training and Training on prescribing and Administrating an Opioid Antagonist"

The current two-year training cycle is February 1, 2022 - January 31, 2024.

Newly licensed dentists and graduates must complete this education within one (1) year of their attaining their license to practice in West Virginia.

Interested dentists should click on the link above, and create a new account.  Once account has been created, you can enroll in the course.   Once completed, WVDA will mail a CE Certificate.

The WVDA Dental Assistant Expanded Duties and Nitrous Oxide Monitoring courses are now available virtually, on-demand here
