ADA news

Dear Dental Society Communications Staff,

We wanted to make you aware of a recent ADA communications initiative. To help position the ADA and its members as advocates in oral health, we are working on increasing public awareness of the Journal of the American Dental Association. We developed a multimedia news release around an October 2015 JADA study on waterpipe smoking, which concluded that smoking hookahs is in fact related to very serious health conditions. The release includes a landing page for reporters and the public to find various assets related to the study, including video footage, photos, an infographic and the downloadable JADA article. We linked the study to the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout for broader reach. Please see below for a link to the multimedia news release. Please feel free to share with your members, your local media and on social media. If reaching out to local media, you may want to offer an interview with a spokesperson from your dental society, which will help localize the materials and position your society as a local media resource.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you.
