Another Medicaid MCO coming onboard July 1
WVDA received communications from dental offices today, reporting their receipt of
a letter from MCNA Insurance Company, a dental benefit management company,
reporting it is building a network of WV dentists so that it can administer Medicaid
dental claims. The solicitation letter requests dentists complete a credentialing
application, W-9 form, contract and other documents, and send them to MCNA
by April 15.
MCNA states it will serve CareSource Medicaid members in WV starting July 1,
2016. CareSource is a new medical managed care organization to WV. That
brings the total MCOs to five. Medicaid beneficiaries can enroll in CareSource,
just as they can enroll with Coventry, Unicare, The Health Plan or Family Health.
CareSource will contract with MCNA to process dental claims for Medicaid
children and adults who enroll in CareSource.
The decision to contract with MCNA is left up to the dentist. MCNA will have to
demonstrate sufficient contracting dentists to fulfill the needs of Medicaid
beneficiaries covered by CareSource.
